Can't install/change/make LogonStudio themes

I have the wierdest problem with LogonStudio all of a sudden. I can not make/change nor can I install any LogonStudio themes. What happens after I install a theme is that the bmp will not display and I get a box with my name and password displayed and when I reboot I get a black background. Before I go any farther I have the beta IE7 installed and I have changed by Antivirus to BitDefender Version 10. I tried uninstalling and doing a fresh install and my problem comes back as soon as I try and install a new theme. My desktop settings are 1600x1200 and I even tried lowering them. My pc is a dell laptop (inspiron 8200) with an invidia440go video board standard from dell. My pc has 512mg memory. I have defragged and checked for any drive problems and can't seem to find anything there. I am using windows xp pro. I sure would like to get logon studio to work again. IE7 and BitDefender should have nothing to do with LogonStudio.
Do the 3 Logons that come with LS work? Are you having problems will all new ones you try?
You say the problem is all of a sudden. Did they work before?

The 3 logons that come with ls works until I add a new or download another theme from wincustomize. As soon as I try to resize the bmp image in ls I get that box with my name and password and no image when I try and apply it. Yes ls use to work on my system. I thought that ie7 or BitDefender was doing something to my system. I can't think of anything else that I have done to my pc as far as software goes. I have added nero too but I only used ls to edit bitmap sizes. I guess I am trying to think of anything that could be causing this.....

What are the names of the logons you are trying to edit. And how are you editing them...do you open the logons in the Logon Studio editor? All of the logons I make and pretty much every one you see with the center panel or "splash" cannot be edited or even opened with the LS editor or it will corrupt the logon file and they won't work. Those styles of logons have to have the bmps edited by opening them from the logon folder itself and any other changes, such as fonts, font colors etc have to be done in the uifile and theme.ini files, not through the Logon Studio editor.

I thought that too. So I tried making several from scratch and still the same thing happens. The only thing I have tried editing is changing the bmp size from what it is to 100% in LS. Heck I even tried just resizing the bmp to my desktop size and all the same thing keeps happening. I had always in the past been able to make one, using the templates and then changing the bmp and it use to work. For some reason it don't work any more. To answer your question about which longon I tried installing was vista plus made by adni18. Something sure seems to be corrupt. Like I said before I have a laptop and it is set at 1600x1200 so I usually had to adjust the size to make it work. During the last couple weeks I just can't seem to get it to work. Thanks for your input.

Yeah, I'm not sure what is the problem if you can't make one from scratch either. Vista Plus by Adni isn't made with Logon Studio. If I open it with the LS editor, it defaults to looking just like a regular LS logon...top and bottom black borders, the blue wall in the center, and the userpanes in the rightcenter just like they would look if you made the logon with Logon Studio. But at least it still works, a lot of logons like that one or like mine will not work at all if they are opened at all in the LS editor window.
Good luck, I don't have any ideas if you've uninstalled and reinstalled LS. Sorry.
